Human Design for Kids: Parenting by Type

Support without conditioning · A guide for parents and teachers

Knowing your child's chart isn't about putting them in a box; it's about no longer asking them to work the way we do. A child who needs more rest, one who needs yes-or-no questions, one who needs to be told about changes: small adjustments that ease family life a lot.

Keys by type

  • ✦Generator child: ask yes-or-no questions and listen to their sound. They need to use up their energy during the day to sleep well.
  • ✦Manifesting Generator child: fast and jumping from one thing to another. Teach them to let you know before they move.
  • ✦Projector child: needs recognition and more rest. Invite rather than order, and don't expect a Generator's pace.
  • ✦Manifestor child: needs freedom and to be told about changes. Teach them to inform rather than to ask permission for everything.
  • ✦Reflector child: very sensitive to their surroundings. Give them time for big decisions and care for the environment they grow up in.

Open centers in childhood

Children absorb a lot through their open centers. A child with an open Solar Plexus may feel the household's emotions as their own; one with an open Root, the adults' pressure. Knowing this helps not to confuse what is theirs with what they are amplifying.
