How the cross is formed
It is made of four gates: your Sun and Earth at birth (Personality) and the same two about 88 days earlier (Design). Since the Sun and Earth are always opposite, those four activations draw a cross on the wheel of 64 gates. The Sun carries most of the chart's energy, which is why these gates weigh so much.
The three angles
The angle of your cross depends on your profile:
- ✦Right Angle (1/3, 1/4, 2/4, 2/5, 3/5, 3/6, 4/6): a personal destiny, lived through your own experience.
- ✦Juxtaposition (4/1): a fixed destiny, very much your own.
- ✦Left Angle (5/1, 5/2, 6/2, 6/3): a transpersonal destiny, fulfilled through encounters with others.
Reading your cross without turning it into pressure
It's common to want to 'fulfill' your cross. In Human Design, purpose isn't pursued by the mind: it reveals itself when you follow your strategy and authority. From the Biodecoding perspective, the pressure to 'find your purpose' often shows up as anxiety; easing that demand is part of the process.
