If Gate 23 appears in black on your chart (Personality), it is a trait you know about yourself. If it appears in red (Design), it is something others see in you before you do, more tied to the body and to what you inherited.
The channel it forms
Gate 23 belongs to the Throat Center and connects with Gate 43. If you have both, the channel forms and both centers become defined. If not, it is a hanging gate: you will feel drawn to people who carry the complementary gate.
