Conscious or unconscious
If Gate 20 appears in black on your chart (Personality), it is a trait you know about yourself. If it appears in red (Design), it is something others see in you before you do, more tied to the body and to what you inherited.
The channels it forms
Gate 20 belongs to the Throat Center and connects with Gate 10 and Gate 34 and Gate 57. If you have one of them too, a channel forms and both centers become defined. If not, it is a hanging gate: you will feel drawn to people who carry the complementary gate.
